ONE ON ONE FLY OR SPIN TRIPS INTO TAMPA BAY'S REMOTE BACKCOUNTRY WATERS FOR TARPON, SNOOK AND REDFISH

    Who We Are

Backcountry Fly Charters was born for the love of the most remote fishing locations you can get to in a busy metropolis. With the love of nature and the beauty of old Florida, fishing these waters brings you back to simpler time. With a small skiff, we are able to access waters that are hardly ever fished. Room for only one angler, we are able to focus on getting you the fish and experience of being in these remote locations.

      WHAT TO EXPECT

These trips are designed for the ultimate angler.  No fancy skiff with all the bells and whistles, we will depart on a small skiff designed to reach the secluded backwaters. Anglers will be supplied with all tackle depending on the mission they choose. A small cooler will be on board for any water and small food items they want to bring.

The Backcountry Experience -  We will set out at the crack of dawn and head for the remote regions in search of baby tarpon. Generally, the tarpon are early risers and will shut down early as the heat of the day gets cooking. With your choice of fly fishing or spin fishing (live bait) we always have a great time in the backwoods.

Docklight Missions - We will depart at dark and search nearby docklights for snook, tarpon and redfish. These are artificial only trips. You will need to know how to throw the fly or cast spin gear.

Winter Low Tide Redfishing Trips - These trips are a blast. Stalking redfish in the shallows and watching them tail is an unforgettable experience. These trips are generally best in the winter when tides are at their lowest. This type of fishing will require precise casting to hit these fish tailing.

Helping us get to these remote areas is this 2018 Gheenoe LT10. This small skiff is at home in the backcountry. Able to wind through endless creeks and pole straight as an arrow. This little skiff does it all. Powered by a 20hp Tohatsu, we can get to the fishing grounds in a hurry.
